Each run returns multiple song options you can save, reject, or edit, which puts you in the role of a curator instead of a producer. For anyone who's stared at an empty timeline, that shift matters more than raw generation quality. Which style works best? Lo-Fi and Relaxing Meditation are the safest starting points for background use.

Rather than editing individual notes, Boomy organizes a track into four groups: Harmonics, Drums, Mixing, and Sound Effects. Free members re-roll these groups as blocks, while Creator and Pro members can swap out single instruments. The trade-off is control versus speed. You get a track that sounds intentional fast, but you won't be drawing automation curves or tuning individual hits.

Custom Vocals lets you sing, rap, or lay down a top-line over a generated track by recording in the browser or uploading a WAV file. Auto Vocals, still in beta, takes a short audio phrase or sample of your own voice and turns it into an algorithmic vocal line you can reject or save repeatedly. Both require your own audio; Boomy doesn't write lyrics and sing them for you the way some competing generators do.

The Dolby Remastering add-on runs a track through Dolby's mastering process for $9.99 per track, balancing loudness and clarity for release. It's an optional purchase stacked on top of a subscription, not part of one. Worth knowing before you buy: the fee is non-refundable and the remastered track can't be edited afterward, so commit only once the arrangement is final.

When you build a release, Boomy packages your songs together with metadata like title, artist name, language, and genre into a zip file that gets emailed to you. That archive is designed to be handed straight to a third-party distributor. It replaced Boomy's old one-click streaming upload, so there's an extra step now, but you also keep control over where your music lands.

Every account comes with a library that supports naming, tags, privacy rules, and archiving, so a growing catalog stays navigable. Boomy also generates AI album art, and its support center publishes prompting guides for getting better results out of it. The free tier caps that library at 25 saved songs, which becomes the practical limit if you're just experimenting.
