The core chat answers scientific questions using a database of more than 230 million research documents, updated weekly. Replies come with citations, so you can trace a claim back to the source rather than trusting a black-box answer. No blind faith required. It's the fastest way to get oriented in a field you don't know well.

Upload your own PDFs and query across them. On the free plan, chat works with text that's already encoded in the file. The Angel plan adds extraction from scanned PDFs plus figures and tables through a feature called PDF+. That matters if your sources are older scans or dense with results buried in charts.

You can see how papers cite each other and map a topic's lineage. For a literature review, this beats guessing which papers matter. Not even close. The free plan includes basic citation networks, while paid plans open up the full "see how papers are cited" view.
