Msty is a desktop-first AI workspace built around a simple idea: you should control which models run your work and where your data lives. Instead of locking you into one provider, it collects local inference engines like Ollama, llama.cpp, and MLX alongside hosted providers in a single organized hub. From there you chat, compare models side by side, and ground answers in your own files.
The product family has four parts. Studio is the workspace itself, Go runs bounded agents on real tasks, Nexus acts as a local model gateway for managing providers and keys, and Stack turns approved sources into versioned knowledge that approved apps can reuse. Most people start with Studio. No need to learn all four at once.
The biggest limitation to know up front: full features like Studio Web, Azure and Bedrock providers, and power-user tools sit behind the paid Aurum tier. The free plan covers core desktop use, but team features such as SSO and audit logs require a minimum of five seats. That's a real barrier for small groups.
