Omi is a Pokemon TCG card scanner built for collectors and players who are tired of flipping between price websites. Point your iPhone camera at a card and the app uses AI and OCR to recognize it, then shows the current market value and price history for that exact printing. The database covers every set from the original Base Set through the newest expansions.
The app grew out of a small frustration. According to the team behind it, three collectors in different countries were checking prices across 47 different websites and spending more time researching than collecting. A rough Python script that could spot a Base Set Charizard three times out of ten turned into the tool they now run daily. Not exactly a clean start.
The catch is platform lock-in. Omi is iOS only, so Android users are left out for now. It also leans on roughly current market data rather than a live trading feed, so treat prices as a strong guide rather than a guaranteed sale figure. Need a web dashboard or a cross-platform setup? This isn't the app for you.
